Dr. Petre Kozak
Dr. Kozak Petre Laurentiu runs the practice on Plantelor Street today and continues the work his father began there. He trained in the treatment of skin conditions within this very practice, alongside the clinic team of physicians.

The practice on Plantelor Street in Bucharest is run today by Dr. Kozak Petre Laurentiu, who continues the work his father, Aut. Prof. Pavel Kozak, began there.
Training
A newly qualified graduate of medical school in 1998, Dr. Petre Kozak specialised in the treatment of skin conditions within the family practice itself. He learned by working: alongside the clinic team of physicians and, above all, under the close supervision of his father, who passed on to him directly both the working method and the treatment formulas.
The clinic team
The team that started the practice together with the family included Dr. Anca Bălănescu, senior dermatologist, formerly a specialist within the study carried out at Fundeni Hospital between 1977 and 1979, and Dr. Daniela Grigoriu, specialist in internal medicine.
The presence of an internist alongside a dermatologist says something about how skin disease is viewed here: as a condition assessed in relation to the patient’s overall state of health, not only at the level of the skin.
Continuing the work
In 2003, after his father died, Dr. Petre Kozak stayed on to continue his work in the treatment of skin conditions, at the same address on Plantelor Street, where the practice still operates today.
In the years that followed, he set about recovering and putting in order his father’s treatment formulas. He then revised them himself, guided by two criteria that still apply: maintaining the effectiveness of the therapeutic response, and keeping the medicinal burden on the body as low as possible.
How the work is done
The preparations used in the practice are not off-the-shelf products. Each formula is established during a consultation, after a detailed assessment of the skin, correlated with the general condition of the patient and discussed with them. The premises and the course of each therapy are set in accordance with the wishes and the consent of the patient.
Depending on the diagnosis and the clinical form, external treatment may be accompanied by a line of internal remedies, and a sparing diet is a mandatory part of the scheme. The technique for applying the topical preparations follows a methodology of its own, matched to the chosen product and to the clinical form of the condition. In certain conditions, synthetic medicinal agents are also used, where a rapid response on the symptoms is needed.
The concern of the physician is to optimise the formula so that the benefit is as high as possible, with as little skin toxicity as possible. The patient is informed from the outset about every aspect and begins treatment fully aware of what it involves. The outcome depends on the diagnosis, on the clinical form and on how each individual case evolves, and relapses are possible and are taken back into treatment.
